Visiting Author Series: Harsha Walia

On Wednesday October 26 from 11am-12:30pm in the SFPIRG Lounge Harsha will be reading from her acclaimed and award-winning book Border & Rule: Global Migration, Capitalism, and the Rise of Racist Nationalism.
Harsha Walia is a South Asian activist and writer based in Vancouver, unceded Coast Salish Territories. She has been involved in community-based grassroots migrant justice, feminist, anti-racist, Indigenous solidarity, anti-capitalist, Palestinian liberation, and anti-imperialist movements, including No One is Illegal and Women’s Memorial March Committee. She is formally trained in law, works with women in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, and is the author of Undoing Border Imperialism (2013).
We are delighted to be joined by Harsha as well for a writing workshop following the reading.

This is an event put on by the SFPIRG Rotunda Library, which is a network of equity-based libraries at the SFU Burnaby Campus. Other Rotunda Libraries are located in the Women’s Centre and Out on Campus. Each of these libraries offer resources, programming and services unique to their mandate.
