Committees help run SFPIRG at a more administrative and organizational level. They are a great way to get involved, especially if you have an interested in the organizational side of SFPIRG.
Committees are usually made up of at least one board member, one staff member and volunteers. Many of the decisions that most boards of non-profits make are delegated to the committees at SFPIRG. This eases the load on the board members in addition to allowing the decision-making process here at SFPIRG more evenly spread amongst its members. Here are the SFPIRG committees that you can get involved in:

Yet another way of volunteering with SFPIRG is through the Board. The SF PIRG Board of Directors is comprised of 7 individual volunteers. Most often, directors are students, but they can also be SFU staff, faculty and community members. The commitment of board members is usually a bit more than other volunteers for they hold the responsibility of planning the direction of SFPIRG. The members of SFPIRG elect the board.
Some of what the Board is responsible for:

-
administering the organization through budgeting, planning sessions and assisting with some day-to-day decision making.
