Volunteering at ARX

Volunteers help in setting the direction of the program and administer many of its parts.

Here are some of the ways in which the ARX program offers valuable volunteer experience to SFU students:

  • classroom outreach (learn to give short presentations in classes across campus!)
  • event organizing (logistical and planning help for ARX events)
  • media/design (creating new promotional materials for ARX)
  • writer (help us spread the word through ads and newspaper articles)
  • database (help us maintain our community and student database)
  • program researcher (help us do research to keep ARX current and relevant)
  • faculty outreach (contact profs about the ARX program)

To volunteer, just drop by an SFPIRG orientation (30min see dates on the SFPIRG homepage) and sign up for an ARX shift in the office. Someone from the ARX committee will meet with you and help orient you to SFPIRG and to the program.

The ARX committee is also always looking for new members. The more members we have, the more representation we have from the student body.

The committee meets once a week for 1.5 hours. For meeting time, check this page at the beginning of each new semester. All SFU students and community members are welcome.

To volunteer with us, contact us at arx(at)sfpirg.ca, call 778-782-4360, or just drop by.

SFPIRG's office and our events are wheelchair accessible. Childcare subsidies are available for events.
