Project Description (Use this space to further elaborate on the project)
We are a large agency and serve youth from Vancouver to Chilliwack. We would like to reduce our environmental footprint, while continuing to work with youth, children and families. We offer a range of programs including three youth centers, employment programs, drug and alcohol prevention services, and alternate schools. We are hoping a student or group of students could look at what we are currently doing and identify areas and solutions for improvement in terms of sustainability.
How do you plan to use the results of this project?
We have established a sustainability committee with representatives from our 13 sites. Our intention is for the committee to review the report and implement the recommendations. This is a new committee and we believe this is an important step in assisting them.
What larger goal is served by undertaking this project?
The larger goal is reduce our environmental impact when we are serving youth and families, but also to demonstrate through action to our participants the importance of being environmentally aware.
