PROJECT OBJECTIVE
The objective of the project is to create a provincial inventory of child rights initiatives. The inventory will provide children, youth, families, communities, professionals, and general public with a centralized place to search for resources, organizations, and information related to child rights.

This project is a component of a multi-year, province-wide Child Rights Public Awareness Campaign which is aimed at raising the level of awareness and understanding of child rights as defined under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. The project will involve following:
- identifying organizations, government agencies, and individuals that are involved in child rights work
- collecting summary information on the child rights initiatives
- cataloging summary information into a user-friendly, searchable format for web publishing
How do you plan to use the results of this project?
The inventory will be housed on the Society for Children and Youth of BC’s website and will be available for public access. The inventory will be promoted provincially as a component of our Child Rights Public Awareness Campaign.
What larger goal is served by undertaking this project?
The provincial child rights inventory will serve to support the work of many organizations and individuals and begin to publicly connect all child rights work to build a stronger movement to improve the well-being all of children and youth in the province.

The Liaison will provide a thorough orientation of the project and overall campaign to set a clear context for the student(s) to work in. The Liaison will also work with the student to clearly define the parameters of the project including deliverables, time lines, and support. Throughout the project, the Liaison will be available for regular consultations and provide student with ongoing feedback.
